Default 1000 ft-lb Clutch and Tranny

For my Cobra build I need a 1000 ft-lb Clutch and Manual Transmission.

On the clutch side, the best I could find was a Fidanza 7.6...which is a twin plate, six-puck ceramic clutch, and includes a lightweight aluminum flywheel for $1500. That's only rated for 998 ft-lbs though.

Any suggestions?

What setup are you going with make 1000 lbs/ft of torque?

I'd recommend a McLeod Twin Disc...

I'll look into the McLeod, thanks for the tip.

How about a stout tranny?

The setup will be a quad turbo remote mount...
Which will involve extensive body modification, two custom intercooler designs, and basically consist of 30-50PSI air cooled to 34 degrees, mixed with 91octane gas cooled to 30 degrees.

I dropped in the engine, now I need the rest of the drivetrain. Next question will be driveshaft, then a replacement for the IRS.

what engine are you using? that set up sound like a rediculous waste of time and money. I would aslo say mcleod for the clutch. I run a Ram street dual that is rated to 1200. trans wise i have no idea. you could look at a viper spec t-56 and i think there is one more build level above the viper spec now. Or look at the getrag out of the supra.

what kind of engine is going in? that setup sounds like the round about way to achieve that kind of power...

The engine is a DSS 5.0L supermod.
All aluminum, race-prepped to take up to 1500horsepower.
Assembled with FR500 heads.
Compression ratio is 10.1:1, power is from 5-600 N/A.

Everything cost 10,500...but I got the Cobra and the engine together for 9, so I'm working with it to get 1000 horsepower.

it is a complete waste to go quad turbo on a 5.0. you can make all the power you can handle with twins. what size turbos are you looking at? they are going to have to be pretty small to spool 4 of them.

Yeah im going to be an *** and go ahead and give you the call out... main problems:
1) remote mount - over 1000 hp (not gonna happen)
2) Remote mount on a 99-04 (not gonna happen with MAJOR work and utter loss of street use)
3) Quad remote mount - thats a dream
4) 1000 ftlbs manual... hope you dont mind changing out $2k clutches every season.
5) 1000ftlbs modular... easier said then done.

Assuming your not full of brown stuff, for this type of setup... ditch the modular and look into a big block swap.

Normally there is about a 20% buffer zone in tolerance ratings, esp with torque rated trans parts, imo that would be good to go.

first off...... the idea is CRAP, second.... why the hell would you want a manual with 1000lbs tq? i GUARANTEE you put an auto in there and you'll run faster with the less power.
