Alright, I emailed you. as far as meeting people here Im just as far out of the loop as you. I don't know anything about cruises or anything like that. My buddy in kingdom city has an 01 bullitt and another friend of mine has a supercharged 95 cobra and an 89 5.0 lx with nitrous. i know others but i dont like them. I mostly hang out up north in the mexico/kingdom city/ auxvasse area.

Ouch, that sucks. Either it was a rod knocking, or that chain slipped BAD. My 96 GT had the timing chain tensioner knocking and there was so much play that I could touch the chains together and it still wasn't anywhere near slipping off.

But like everyone else said, you will have a brand new engine in a 99 cobra for less than 10K, be happy.

i would have taken the car back and dropped it off at the dealer. Not to be an *** but you are dumb for allowing them to pull that on you.

I agree that he could have probably gone back to the dealer and raised some ****, but if it was an as-is sale, he was pretty much out of luck anyway. For that cheap of a price, he should have expected some sort of catastrophic failure, and I'd be willing to bet the dealer knew the motor was about to go, so they cut the price about what they figured a motor swap would cost.

from the sounds of it, he bought the car some where else. before he bought it and took the car to a ford dealer for them to check out. that being said the ford dealer did nothing but give their advice on the problem and they cant be held responcable for any of the damage.
