Default Please help!!! Blown Lower Intake Gasket!

Hey Guys. I havent been on in a while but i have a 03 DSG Cobra and i just found out that i blew my lower intake gasket on the passenger side closest to the firewall. i need to know if this would be anything like a 94/ 95 GT intake swap. im just wanting to replace the gasket but my mechanic is acting like its a huge deal.

Another thing. before the gasket blew the car started blowing oil out of the oil breather when i would stomp on it.(Passenger side) so i put the oil breather hose back on that goes from the head to the Cold air intake. but this also happend after i added oil to the car because it said there was barely any oil on the dip stick. and i also heard from someone else that the dipsticks in our cars dont read right so maybe i was a quart to much. i dont know. but please get back with me ASAP. Maybe send a link to such a problem. Thank yall in advance. ~EK

If I am not mistaken the lower intake gasket would only require you to remove the supercharger. Those are some pretty nice o-ring gaskets, how did you blow it at only about 14 psi? I have never heard about the oil level issues reguarding the dipstick.

JB's right. Lower gasket aint but an hour or so job. Oil consumption through the PCV system has been beat to death and is not uncommon, do a search and you'll find hundreds of threads on it.

get a service manual if you plan on it. it will come in handy as you move along with other mods to your car.
IMO gasket swaps on the intake of a mod engine is much easier than on a 5.0/5.8 engine

i removed the supercharger and took the intake it was sitting on off. the lower intake gasket doesnt look blown but i took the intercooler off of the supercharger and someone had put it on with some silicone and there wasnt any silicone on the back half. Im thinking that this was where the air was leaking from sounding like a real bad exhaust leak and making the car barely run. When i took the supercharger off there was oil sittin in the lower intake. i was having really bad blow by when the gasket blew so im thinking that the oil is just because the intercooler didnt have a seal. but where was the oil coming from?? nothing else on the intake looks hurt...I really need some input from you guys. Im really ready to get back on the road but need some advice.
