Default Some help with cel

First I want to say thanks for all the great info shared on this forum. I don't post alot, but I lurk all day during down-time at work. I have learned more here than I could have from any book, and gained the courage to do all my own work. The knowledge and experience here, and willingness to share it, has given me much more pride of ownership. Just made my last payment and title is on the way! My 97' Cobra is much better than the day I bought it. Anyway, I did a search on p0301 - and see many reasons for that code. Due to a rich condition, my passenger catlytic converter disintegrated! Anybody interested in what I did to cause it, just ask, and I can go into detail. Anyway, I am in Idaho and there is no smog-check, or emissions laws. Can this P0301 be linked to gutted Cat? I am assuming it must be. Just pulled codes at Auto-Zone and that was all I had. I am going to post up some pics of the local area, Snake River is about 20 miles away. The road to the river is dead straight, and a few rolling hills. Great place to open it up. Also A place called Firebird raceway. Local track that sees alot of action. Now that my car is paid off I am planning to put some money back into. I read the link to home-made mil eliminators, or a friend with a local welding shop can install a Cat for about $85.00. Any ideas? Thanks in Advance, Alan

you should do the mil eliminators and an o/r mid pipe since you don't have any emissions laws in Idaho. Might as well add performance while eliminating cats. If I can get away with it in California, you can definitely get away with it in Idaho.
