Default Heads / Tick problem ?

Well a buddy of mine was telling me about problem with the heads on termis as well as a ticking, he also mentioned something about the #7 and or #8 cyls i believe.

I have been searching and found some threads from 2008 and before then, and sure enough i found quite a bit of guys having problems.

I was thinking about a mach and decided maybe i would just save a lil more and get a 03 / 04 cobra, but stuff like this bothers me. One guy even said to not have problems avoid doing 15+ second WOT runs. To me that takes the fun outta having it.

Are there any fixes that have come about? Any info that would help me? What would i be looking at to have a cobra i disnt have to worr about having his problem?

Head tick is on early run 03's, a lot of cars have revised heads. The "head cooling mod" greatly helps prevent this. 15 second WOT throttle runs, I do them all the time, theres no need to really go over the end of 4th gear, which is like 130ish - 140ish. Just try not to do too many top speed runs wot in 5th and 6th. That is a huge load for these motors and if you do it too much you will melt/blow your #7 and/or #8 cylinders if your car is not setup to deal with this. I.E. appropriate cooling and tuning.

anyway, I wouldn't let those two little things affect your decision at all. I've been beating on my car for 7 months and haven't had a single problem. even seen the little needle go well past 160.

I've never had a problem!

As a former mach1 owner I can say I like and enjoy my terminator a lot more.
