I want to get gears for my 01 cobra and american Muscle has combo kits.
One has a Diabo sport and the other has the SCT SF3 Powerflash custom tuner. The only mods that I plan on doing to the car are Gears and either Borla stinger catback or Bassani catback. Which tuner would suit me the best? I will be having these professionally installed.

The canned tune is trash and a waste. Call up who ever your going to have eventually have dyno tune your car and as them which they prefer.

 

The place I'm going to take my car too is big into SCT and they also dyno too. I just didn't know which was better.
Can the dyno tuner save the new tune to the tuner or do they reflash and save it for themselves?

Do I need a tuner if I get a gear swap and have it dyno tuned? Can whomever does the tune reflash for the new gears?

 

Then go with the SCT if that is what your tuner prefers.

The tuner saves the tune to the SCT device.

You will need a tuner for a gear swap is you want your speedometer corrected. A tuner is not mandatory for a gear swap thou.

You tuner will be able to correct your speedometer when he does the gear install if you have the SCT.

 

I used the SCT SF3 tuner on my 07 GT. The canned tunes are ok, but you can definately tell there is more improvements that can be made. I checked into both tuners SCT and Diablo, and the difference comes in how the modifications are applied by the computer. The SCT makes all the changes immediately, and supposidly the Diablo applies changes throughout the power band. The SCT seems like the more popular choice with tuners.
