I have 373 gears as well and that really woke up the car. Those 4v engines love rpms like a european v8

Thanks, and I love it, wouldn't go any other way. Just to think I almost put a Vortech on her, but the extended power range of the twin screw, and the better effeciency at making that power won me over. I believe onyxcobra also has a Kenne Bell on his, I know he's working on getting it on, his is the 2.0L Blowzilla though, mine is the standard 1.5L with an 11 psi pulley upgrade.

Yea I can tell, and you have to keep those RPMs up to sustain that power as these cars fall flat on their face from a dig in N/A form.

My 08 has the twin screw Saleen supercharger and I think I like it a little better than Vortec. Power is quicker and flatter throughout all rpm ranges. There is noticible gas mileage difference between the 08 3 valve and the 98 4 valve. The 98 gtes about 25 and the 08 gets 20. What's the difference? The way the superchargers work?

Well remember the 08 weighs more and runs richer from the factory. But if you're romping on it a lot then yes, you will consume more gas with a twin screw than a centrifugal because the twin screw makes instant full boost and full power where as the centrifugal takes time to spool up and build to full boost making less power across the entire power band and taking less gas as well because of the less power.

guys .my cobra days may be short lived,a young man may be coming tom. to buy it.i was cleaning it at the car wash and he came up asked if it were for sale.i gave him a price and he said he would see me monday.i really did like this car and if this old firebird restoration not taken so much cash,it would have stayed.i have a new respect for the cobras ,and to be honest with you ,only one thread on your forum and everyone here seemed very cool.that is not always the case on the vette forum where i have spent several years .regards

Default Another Vette guy with a 98 Cobra with a 1.7L KB

Well I owned several Vettes, and was a diehard Bow-Tie guy, until we had our kids. So I sold my 2000 C5 a few years ago, and ordered and brand new 2007 Mustang GT Premium Convertible, and loved it. While it wasn't as quick as the Vette, I had a blast having the whole family along, and got a ton more compliments on it than I ever did any of my Vettes. Sadly, I had to sell the 07 to my neighbor when we were transferred to Alaska, as the base housing here has no garage, and I couldn't stand to see it rot in the snow, ice and salt. But I recently got a great deal on a 98 Cobra and bought it and put it in storage at my brother's in San Diego. Hopefully we will return to the lower 48 this summer so I can drive it everyday. You will really like you Cobra if you hang on to it, especially if with a KB!
