Ok, I bought a 93 teksid motor, it runs good. Came out of a 93 Mark VIII and it has 50,000 miles on it. I know the crank is six bolt and the cams are different than the Cobra. The heads have the same casting numbers. My question is that I'm running a pro charger and I am going to up the boost. I am going to bore the motor out .10 or .20, with new forged dished pistons and forged rods. Is the crank ok to use? Are the 6 bolts verses 8 bolts the only thing different from the cobra?. Also can I just change out the cams and the heads and use the ones from the lincoln? ( thinking of a stage two or something ) this way I will have the motor ready to drop in, or do i need to use crank from cobra and heads also?
Now to answer your questions. First, it's out of a 93, as the Mark VIII ran from 93-98. Use the cobra crankshaft, it's forged, and since it's 8 bolt, you will be able to use the clutch that's in the cobra now. I would also use the heads and intake from the 99 cobra since you definitely don't want to use the 93 Mark VIII intake and the 99 cobra intake won't bolt up to the B heads on the Mark VIII.
