Default 98 Cobra Trunk Support

When i hit the "Trunk" button on the remote should the trunk just pop and sit about an inch open or should it pop on open and move up easy when i push it?
I know some cars just pop the latch and some actually have the support that will kinda open it slowly(not automatic type)
When i click it i hear the latch and it just kinda sits there and then when I go to push it open it is a little hard to open.
Sound like i need new supports?
Thanks

It should just pop open a little... if its hard to open then you need supports

If it is kind of hard to open, seems to me that your latch may need some lube and/or adjustment.

Oh, ok. I must have misunderstood you. Wasn't sure if you were saying the catch was released from latch when you hit the button! Carry on..
