Default 2001 vs 2003 Cobra

Can anyone tell me why there seems to be a difference of roughly $10k when it comes to a comparable 2001 and a 2003 Cobra? I'd like to do my homework before deciding what to buy and any help is welcome. I would like to keep my expense under $15k

That's ONE difference....

Theyre two completely different animals. 03 has a bullet proof bottom end out the factory. Supercharged. Sexier body pieces. Better transmission (T56). they truely are two different caliber vehicles.

Two different cars. If you drive the 03 your not going to want an 01. You can easily find a well kept 01 for under $15K. Finding an 03 for that would require some very high mileage.

You mean besides the T56 6 speed transmission, the sexier body panels, the all forged bottom end, and, oh yeah, an extra 100 horsepower from the blower?

If you can do it, spring for the 03/04. If not, then an 01 with 4.30 gears and some sticky tires and nitrous would make for a fun car too.

I would save a little extra to find a 03/04 Cobra!! ... Great car with a great re-sell value!

...I've seen a few in the $16-17k range with 40-50k miles on them!

I bought my '01 Cobra not knowing much about Mustangs in general, and then after finding out that the 2003-2004's were supercharged, I got sad lol.

Don't get me wrong, I love mine, but they call the '03-04's "Terminators" for a reason--they are FTMFW. 'Nuff said.

Yeah, when I started looking around for my first Mustang, I had my heart set on a GT that I would mod to my liking. Never had any interest in owning a Cobra. Well, after looking around for a week or so, I stumbled upon a '99 with 83k for $9,000. I test drove it, fell in love with it, and bought it.

It wasn't until later that I found out about the upgrades from 99 to 01, and then the Terminators later. Granted, the 03/04 models were out of my price range at the time, but I look back and wish I'd at least done a bit more homework. At the same time however, I love my 99 and wouldn't trade it for anything, she's been really good to me so far.
