Ease up guys, I'm sure he bought the car that fit his needs. Not everyone fits the need for a Cobra.

Can you believe I almost bought a Honda? I couldn't pass up the deal I got on mine.

I don't think they were "failing" him for not purchasing the Cobra. I took it as though he wasn't really in a rush to get a car, but that he was interested in the Cobra. The fail comes from the fact that the 2011 models, which will be released in less than a year have a 5.0 litter with 410hp (if I remember correctly) and the v6 will have 300hp. This means, if he would have just waited less than a year, for roughly the same price he could have gotten 100 more hp and even newer car.

I agree. The power that these Mustangs are putting out these days from 1997 is more than adequate.

I get you're point. I would have waited for the 5.0. That looks like a fun car but the price hurts, ouch!

i know all about the 11. i went in thinking i was going to order an 11. After checking the dealers around me they all wanted$2K over invoice on a stang like my 10, invoice was going to be about $36k, making the 11 $38K. I just wasn't interested in that 5.0 or not. in fact, i woudln't pay sticker for an 11, and that $10k i saved compared to the 10 puts on a whipple and lots of other gear. I paid about $6K under sticker for my 11, got stripes, qtr louvers, and tiny thrown in. Plus 1.9% for 72 months. Hard to pass that up. Hate on all you want, it's sad when we all love stangs to see some folks act like total *******, it's not liek I ended up with a Mustang II. and FWIW, i have driven V6 cars with similar power to a V8, torque makes a world of difference.

So what was the point of the trade? Youve got the same car with a better looking factory body cept its a coupe, yet you dont have the SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS you spent on exterior mods on this one.

I would have positively waited for the 2011's.
Or got a SHO.
Or a 03-04 Cobra.
Or an F-body...

Wait, not that last one.

As mentioned in Post #11. You chose a car to fit you're needs. I really like that Grabber Blue color. Good Choice.

Congrats on the new car! FAIL is those who are pouncing on a engine the first year of production and paying a premium! Enjoy

Not missing that money. Point of the trade? Ummm... wanted a coupe, wanted less miles. I'll get me a cobra eventually.
