Default What to get for 1996 cobra

I am all ready getting 3.73 gears and a sct tuner. I will have an extra 400-500 dollars left over what would be a good way to increase power.

I would go with exhaust, or save toward a supercharger.

Midpipe, Pulleys, and save another hundred or so and get a JLT cold air intake.

i agree with everything said here except you should at least get 410s, 373s do almost nothing for these high revving engines, im gona switch my 373s out for 430s soon

is there a forum for sct tuner?? I just recently bought 96 Cobra and the previous owner used this SCT tune for it. They guy wants to selling to me 200. is it worth buying from him or should I just buy a whole new one and retune it. I think it needs to be retuned because RPM sticks at 2000 for a little after I'm off the gas pedal. Again it has crower cam stage 3. What do you guys think?? Forgot to mention this is my very first mustang.

Dorothy it is worth buying for the right price. That tuner would have the stock tune on it from your car. I would not pay 200 for it. I bought mine off the previous owner of my car for 100. He would not be able to get anything above $100 for it , due to, it is locked to your car and will not work on anyone else car. It would have to be shipped back to sct to get it unlocked, and that is not free. Congrats on your first mustang.

Op I would go with 4:10 gears you won't regret it.

Totally agree. Also like another member said I would ditch the 373 idea and go straight for the 410's. GL!

Definately go with the 4.10 gears!! I was debating on whether to go with 3.73's or 4.10's in my 98, and I'm tickled with the 4.10's. Amazingly it still gets 20+ MPG IF you don't hammer it everywhere (I didn't believe it either but I checked the mileage twice!). They get you up in the high RPMs really quick which is where those motors shine. Then I'd say a midpipe and exhaust would be your best bet
