Default Tires for '98 Cobra Convertible

We have a '98 convertible,,, triple black.... The tires a previous owner put on it are crap on wet roads. Living in Western Washington, this is a problem. I want to put some Raised White Letter tires on, because I think they'll look good against the all-black. Having a bit of trouble finding anything in the 245/45z/r17 size.... Does anyone have any experience with something similar? If RWL tires aren't available in the size, any tips for good all-weather, American-Brand tires?

no input on a good all weather tire really, but i would suggest going to a 275 tire for the rears and keep 245s up front.

Also, usually a good all weather tire = a bad going fast when its dry tire, if it grips when its wet it usually won't under WOT in the dry.

you cant find any raised white letter tires because it is not 1985 and your driving a Mustang not a truck.
And why do they have to a "American-Brand tires"? Just because a Company is a US Co. does not mean the tire you are buying was made in the U.S.

Welcome.
The best tires I have used on my Ford Mustang so, far are the
Yokohama S Drive 245/45/17 tires.
They definitley have excellent wet and dry traction and seem to
wear very slow.Yokohama makes great quality tires and I will be
getting these tires again when they wear out one day.

Welcome to MF .... I really like the Nitto 555's or INVO's...BUT, you're not going to get raised white letters with these tires!

...Just scrap the white letters!

This. I have them in 275s on my '99 and it still spins with the stock gears. A lot less than the other I have tried.

please no white letters on the stang. nittos are a good choice for price and performance (all around) tires.
