On a side note, MFJ - When are you going to get the new 4.0 Whipple?
On this motor? Never. I don't want to break the crank with that much stress on it. If I had a 5. 4 and the money, then I'd do it. They fixed the problem by placing the supercharger drive pulleys inside the accessory belt drive, closer to the block, so that made it less stressful to the crank, not being so far out...
If I went with the 3.4 what other upgrades would I need to do other then the fuel rails? I thought I read the 3.4 is for the motors that had been worked on. I have not cracked my open, and not sure if I want to. The link below is what I am leaning to buy, what do you all think, or do you know any where else I can get a better deal?

With the 3.4 Whipple don't go any smaller than a 3.5 pulley (22-23psi) if you want to run pump gas. Any smaller would require better fuel (e85 or race gas). As far as engine modifications, that's not really necessary. The ONLY thing I would highly recommend is welding the crank pulley hub to the crank pulley so that it doesn't start coming out, like other 3.4 Whipple cars have done. When that starts to happen, it starts acting like a press and eventually will **** up your thrust bearings while pulling your crank forward and ruining your engine.
From what I read, Kenne Bell's seem to be more tempermental than the Whipple. Both give good hp results however. I've known diehard KB believers, but even he had a couple of major issues with his.
