whipple questions
Well ive finnally scrounged up some cash and decided ide like to go down this road. But i have a few questions for people who may know more about them. I plan to run around 17-21 psi, probably leaning towards the 17 range and ide like to make around 650hp. Its basically a stock 03 cobra and ive already accounted for the fuel upgrades that will be needed, but heres the questions.
With the whipple 2.3, does it make the same hp at the same psi as the 3.4 model? I know the 3.4 can put out 30lbs over the 2.3 25lbs, but i will never go that much anyways and the 2.3 is much cheaper then the 3.4.
Also with the 3.4 modification is needed to the underside of the hood, does the 2.3 require this also? I hear of some people lowering the motor alittle with spacers to make room for the 3.4.
anyways that kind of what my thoughts/questions are on these. If i can save around 1000 bucks by getting the 2.3 and making the same power under the same boost ide like to go that route. What are you guys thoughts on this, and which way would you go.

Not sure on the Terminator, however the Whipple 2.3 was great on my F150 Harley Davidson and we were running 22psi on stock heads, manifolds and exhaust I know it was crazy and I lifted the heads twice.
If I am not mistaken the 2.3 and 3.4 do make different power at different boost levels so you have to figure out what you want out of which blower and go that route.
I had my Whipple installed by JJ at woodbinemotorsports and I know he's done several Terminators installs and accorddig to him the 2.3 fits fine and you don't have to drop the engine or adjust the hood. So go get it.

Something to consider, with the 3.4 Whipple, you HAVE to utilize aftermarket fuel rails. That is NOT the case with the 2.3... Also, with the 3.4, you have to "notch" the underside of your hood, but that won't affect what it looks like from the top (outside of the car). You CAN make 650ish rwhp with the 2.3, but that will be pretty close to maxing it out and will require at least 21psi. The 3.4L Whipple makes 23psi with a 3.5 pulley and that is MAX for pump gas, and that should net you about 700ish rwhp. Th 3.4 Whipple can be pullied all the way up to 30 psi, but at that level, you need race gas or e85 as reg 93 octane will detonate with that kind of cylinder pressure...
Hope this helps, coming from a fellow 3.4 whipple user...
Awsome, thanks for the info. Also whats the life on these things as far as milage. And what size injectors should i be looking at? i was thinking 80lb would be enough but im not sure. I had already factored in replace the fuel rails with either setup but its good to know the 2.3 wouldnt need to:S im on a budget so im still up in the air about which way to go. I kinda feel like go big or dont...

well man i have a 2.3 making 650hp at 20psi with a 3.0 pulley...i have 60lb injecters and a stock fuel system minus the KB BAP...my fuel system is beyond maxed out and really needs a return syle system along with pumps etc...right now im plenty happy with my car and the power it has and the supercharge still has alot more to go before it says no more! someday i will prolly upgrade to the 3.4 but thats only after a complete overhaul of the car!! hope this helps man let us kow if you have anymore questions!
