Default Mail order tunes...

Who is preferred for the 4v engine? I'd like to get an email tune to replace the canned SCT tune that's currently on my car. I'm thinking Justin@VMP tuning. Anyone else have an idea?

Also, I know dyno tunes are preferred. But at this point, with the mods I have it's almost useless. Plus the cost and driving 2+ hours is ridiculous. I'll save that for FI!

BamaChips is still a popular choice I think. I've used them on cars past, had no complaints...

Never heard anything bad about Jon Lund.

I had real good luck with RWTD...but, the best option is to get the car to a dyno shop that knows what they're doing!

I went with VMP tuning and got my tune 3 hours after I placed my order. Justin did a great job as usual. The car runs great. No hesitation like I had with the canned SCT tune.

I used ATS for a while and didn't really like them. Then they screwed up the basetune for my Whipple completely so I had Jeff Harris tune it in person. Can't beat a dyno tune.

I just had my 99 Dynoed and have very similar mods as you. Here is what I did for optimal performance and fuel economy:

Fuel - 93 Octane fuel economy
Fuel Load - lean 2% (made a near perfect 12.8 a/f ratio)
Timing 0-2000 rpms - advance 4%
Timing 2000-4000 rpms - advance 3%
Timing 4000+ rpms - advance 2%

Use on my GT and had no issues.
But I agree with Timspony , a true dyno tune is the way to go.
