Default Brake Light

I just took my 01 cobra out today after a long winter nap and found the brake system warning light in the dash is not working. When you first turn it on and the lights light up the brake light is not lighting up, and it does not light up with the e-brake engaged. First I thought it was the bulb but now that has been ruled out. Got out the owners manual and that says to seek service immediately. So can anyone tell me why the light is not working, and why should I seek immediate service.

so you press on the brakes and your brake lights work?! if they do work then your fine...your ebrake is an ebrake its not really needed your supposed to leave your car in gear when you park it but just cause the light doesnt work doesnt mean it doesnt work...not something i would worry bout...

owner manuals are always like that bout everything i wouldnt be worried prolly knocked the switch loose for the ebrake or something
