Considering 1998 Cobra purchase---??
#11
Thanks again guys.
I 'passed' on the 98 Cobra convertible with the engine noise.
Found a 96 Cobra Converible on Craigslist out of Chicago with 99,220 miles.
The 2 pics looked good--- then he sent me the rest.
The drivers seat looks real bad. Also the white paint has some flaws/flakking in 2 places.
He will sell it for $ 7500. Paint would need to be touched up and the drivers seat 'addressed'.
Still looking.....

I just noticed you are in MI. There are plenty of Cobra's in MI for good prices. I was on CL the other day and there was a Mystic in GR for around $7k. Look harder there is no reason to drive long distance for a POS car. Sure do it for a perfect car but not junk

Too many deals out there. Look around and you'll find one.
Just bought my first cobra (needed a daily driver) an all black 97 with 80K miles garage queen and not a scratch on it for $6100.00. The guy drove like my 85 year old mom and it is still tight like it needs to be broken in. I'll have it loose in a month.

Found a 96 red exterior, tan interior Cobra convertible.
Has 58,000 miles and second owner.
$7,000 and 100% stock.
Have to go to New York to get it (from Gr Rapids, Michigan).
Going to rent a car hauler and go get it this weekend.

Wow! And I thought I got a good deal... I got mine last year with 93000 miles, brand new top, and a few add ons (see sig). I thought the car was in exceptional shape, with no mechanical issues, but after paying for the car and talking with the old man who I bought it from, he informed me that all the add ons were done by the previous owner who had bought the car new specifically to road race it... so it has a lot of hard miles on it, which is probably why it needs an engine, trans, and rear end rebuild...
I don't feel like I got screwed, because looking now, I haven't seen a better deal within 500 miles. But... apparently around the country it may be a different story though.
