Default new cobra owner, got some ?'s

This isn't me, but my buddy is picking up an '03 cobra tomorrow, bone stock with 60k miles. The main thing, is how will that irs last with some dr's on stock power? on the 16th we're oging to the track and I have a set of slicks i'll be running on my car, so i'm letting him put my 555r's on. could he make a few decent launches with them without worrying? also what times should he expect, I'm assuming if he hooks some low/mid 12's at around 113 or so.

if he starts to wheel hop with the dr's gtfo of it he will snap a half shaft now if he had a bias ply tire he could go all day long and not snap a half shaft.

hmmm maybe I'll make a few runs on my slicks then let him use those instead of the dr's then.

...I ran DR's at the track without snapping an axle....I now have ET Streets!

You're Cobra DOES NOT need 3.73's!!! (You have enough torque as it is! ...unless you want to spin more! ) .... Get a 2.76" upper & a good tune and you'll pick-up close to 50-65 rwhp, depending if you add a CAI, exhaust....

Oh, Congrats!!!!

It's not mine, i wish it was tho lol.

I'm just curious on the gears, the car will have a built sra, u/l ca's, and some dr's for next summer, would 3.73's still be a bad choice for him? are you suggesting stock or like a 3.55?

also that's his plans along with the rear for the winter, midpipe, catback, cai, pulley, and a tune. that'd put him in the 440whp area correct?

^^^ 03/04 Cobra's have 3.55 gears with a IRS from the factory....I'd stick with the 3.55's....440-465 rwhp depending on the combo!

Ok thanks for the help! Off hand do you know if Mac produmps off my 2000 gt would fit on his? I'm assuming they'd work with the axle since they dump before it but not sure of the mounts.
