Default Help with a decision

Hey everyone, I'm new to the site as well as mustangs. I drove a jeep for 7 years and I am driving a Yukon XL till I can sell my jeep. I am looking at getting a Mustang once the Yukon dies as it is at 203,000 mi. now. I am looking at '07 GTs and '04 Cobras. I guess my biggest issue is that I need it to be a reliable daily driver, but I also want to have a little bit of a toy in it. I am thinking minor modifications like headers, x pipe and exhaust as well as intake and the tune neccessary to make it run propperly with this settup. I know a little about the stock power levels, but what kind of MPG am I looking at? What do you all think is a better path for me to take? I really like the idea of having a supercharger under the hood but if I'm riding at 14 MPG it'll be hard to justify it to my fiance'. It seems like the price of the two is somewhat similar so it really comes down to what is going to be better for minor mods and the most important thing is reliablity and cost efficiency.

I'm also curious what kind of issues arrise with the supercharged mustangs as I have no real experience with forced induction. Is there different things to look for in a vehicle and what kind of maintence issue are different?
Thanks for all the help!

Get the 03/04 Cobra...you'll still get 22 mpg with a stock to mild SC Cobra!!!!! ...and they're fun!

I would really like to get a cobra, but do I stand a chance of finding one for 16-17,000 with reasonable miles? What are some of the issues I should look for in them and what are their weak points? Like I said, I'm new to mustangs and I really like to try to learn as much as I can.

Thanks!

You can find a few in that range with 60-70k on them. They are really strong cars with a real stout factory engine that can handle alot of power. I have never owned one so I dont know weak points but have worked on alot (friends cars) and never had issues. My buddy just traded his 07GT in for an 03 Cobra. If you cant find a Cobra have you checked out 03/04 Mach 1s?

I just started looking at Mach 1s, I like them as well, I'm just trying to get the best bang for my buck. You can def. get a Mach for less (duh) or with low miles which may be a good route for me. I'm looking to do minor alterations, what kind of power could the Machs get with headers and full exhaust (w/out cats) and a good intake?
