I just purchased an 03 cobra 2 days ago with about 81k miles on it and last night the alternator went bad!!! I'm pissed. Anyway, how hard is it to change and how long would it take? Is there a how to somewhere? I've searched but can't find anything. Anyway, thanks for yalls help!! Hope to get this fixed ASAP!!

You'll need to take out the battery (to make it easier) .... 2 plugs, 2 bolts...Your going to to remove/install under the car!!

It's not too bad....maybe an hour or 2 to change!

Alt is probably the easiest acessory to swap on the car. Loosen the belt, remove the battery and its right there for you to get to. You can remove it without the battery being out also but why not since that takes all of 2-3 mins to remove. After your first time you can replace them in 30 mins or less.

Got it fixed!! Wasn't able to do it myself bc of work, but the guy I know who did it said it took him all of 45 min. And yes he removed the battery! Hopefully I won't ever need another alternator, I've heard they are common problems on these cars.
