Last year was my 1st winter with my car, I used car cover and battery tender. I put heavy duty plastic on garage floor under car. I found industrial carpet squares with a rubber backing to put under the tires, I put bounce dryer sheets in car, trunk and exhaust outlets this was supposed to keep rodents away. I started car once a month and went for short ride around neighborhood for about 30 to 40 min. I do not have a heated garage and saw no ill affects from doing this.

The car cover I bought was off of EBAY, I think X-Treme car cover was the brand and it fit all mustangs, It was around 65 to 70 dollars with shipping and it worked very well.

Put stabil in the gas tank and let it sit untill you bring it back out for the season, idle and short trips do more harm than good for storage as the vehicle doesn't get hot enough to burn off all the nasties. If you do not have a garage I recommend putting it in a storage unit and no cover needed.

I stabil my vehicles and start them every two weeks or so. I let them get to operating temp while dreaming about living in a place that doesn't use salt on the roads.
