Problems with 01 cobra
Hey guys I recently got a 2001 mustang cobra and it seems to be having a bit of problems.
It doesn't have the power that it's supposed to have, I know because I've a couple already. It doesn't have much power below the 3rpm's, it makes a lot of noise but doesn't really get anywhere.
Sometimes when I put in neutral after being on third gear, it either turns off on me or goes below 300 rpm.
I recently gave it a whole tune up, cleaned the maf sensor, fuel imjector cleaner, but still does the same thing.
I have a jlt CAI in it, but still had the same problem with the stock intake.
Any ideas or solutions? Thanks

I had a 98 cobra that done the same thing .. I lost a few races in it because of that problem .. My buddy is real smart on race cars and he suggested changing the plugs and plug wires .. I got a set of ford motorsport plugs around $7.00 a pop and some 9mm ford racing wires and it took care of the problem .. It ran smoother and stronger .. So I don't know if I had a bad plug or bad wire but it fixed it .. So you may want to check yours out and consider new ones

Oh yeah I forgot to tell ya it had some power loss and I could be going down a hill and put it in neutral and the car would die.. And sometimes just be driving and push the clutch in to shift gears and it would die .. The plugs and wires actually fixed this problem ..

The RPM drop is likely the IAC. COPS and plugs could be the issue had a 99 GT with a 7 second 0-60 thanks to three bad coils. Fuel filter or a weak fuel pump could also cause it. Can you get a 0-60 video of it?
