Default 97 cobra project:)

How's it going fella's. My name is zeb and as you can see, I'm new to the site. I am a powersports service tech and I have allways been a hot rodder!! I have owned a few fox bodies and fox+ gt's but never a cobra.. So this year with the tax money, I went on the hunt for a "deal" project cobra and found a pretty damn good deal. Its a red 97 cobra with a motor noise so the kids selling i say's.. Here what we got ..
Has a noise in the bottom end. Dude started pulling it apart and stopped after removing the valve covers and intake.
Has 2'' drop springs front and back
tokico adjst: struts
tokico rear shocks
high flow cats with 2.5'' flowmaster cat-back
lakewood blow-proof bell housing with cobra clutch
hurst short throw shifter
cross drilled rotors
Car is solid with only a couple door dings and some front bumper paint flaking. has all the fender and hood stickers still and no airbag deployments. I got the car for $2,200.00 I am fully capable and excited for the engine rebuild. ( re-build jet boats, sport bikes, and pwc's on a regular basis).. I would like some insite from some of you die-hard mod motor guys on what to look out for and any other tips you can give me as this is my first 32v mod build.. Thanks and I will be keeping you updated as the build goes along!!

Wow good grab, unless u plan on buolding the motor big (IE forged rotating assembly) you can find a teksid longblock in good shape for rather cheap.

I've got a brand spanking new in the box close ratio T-56 6-speed that I'll sell to you for lower than you'll find anywhere else. Let me know if you want to take your build that direction, and I'll take pics of it. It's a long story, but the moral of it is that I'm not single.

Or, if you'd rather use a T-45 to beef, I'll install my T-56 and sell you the T-45. I have a red 97 cobra with only 22,000 original miles on it... it's pristine.
