RE: slow cobra
I thought I might add... Run the car, dang it. You can't start to question it until you go to redline in each gear. I also recall that the 97 cobra is supposed to get to 45 mph in first. Thought this site may be of some help to you, it is specification sheet for the factory stock 97 cobra... http://home.pon.net/hunnicutt/97CobraSpecs.htm

800HP is an extremely lofty goal.. You would need to have to completely rebuild your motor with forged internals, put a blower on with an extremely high amount of boost, or a twin turbo setup. You would also need an entirely new drive train.. different transmission, drive shaft, rear end, etc... your talking a LOT of money and a LOT of time....

RE: slow cobra
the 40 to 41 you are getting is most likely from a 3.73. That is about what I get. There are a lot of websites that have such programs on them. I have not come across many that are very good. I can not remember where I found one that was right, but I think if you look a little, you will come across one that is. It should give you 3.73 or at least a lot closer then that 3.90 that you got. I haven't seen that gear offered for the 8.8 rear.

RE: slow cobra
Ummmmmm........ 800........ If you get that much power in your Cobra good luck driving the thing on the road and not losing your mind.. If you get to 550 that's plenty for a street Cobra. Don't listen to all those little kids that say they have 400 to the ground and 600 to the ground. Now if you want to just be the sickest Cobra on the road then you are going to need that kind of power. Two really good people to check out is:
Brian @ ELD Performance
I think his website is www.eldperformance.com
Sean @ Sean Hyland Motorsports
www.seanhylandmotorsports.com
These two guys I can stand up for they are some of the best to the market for 4.6 Cobras. Last time I talked with Brian he was building a 1000HP white Cobra that will be street legal..(Can someone say 'TURBO')
Give them a look and talk to them and they can walk you in the right path...
