I asked this in 4.6 tech as well, but figured I had better ask this in here also. On the 96-98 Cobras do we have to pull the engine to replace the headers or can we actualy replace them with out pulling the engine? I couldnt tell from just looking. I know I have multiple things to pull off either way, but I have no way of doing it myself if I have to pull the engine... Would like to know before I give it a shot and figure it out the hard way.

 

It depends on the headers. Some can be installed without removing the engine, others require it to be lifted. There is one set (don't recall which) that comes in a couple pieces and you slip them together at the collecter. All I can say is that they can be installed on the car, but doing it with the engine in will be a fun job!!
