I am looking to do a complete drivetrain and interior swap from an 03' cobra to any mustang of the same body style. I know the cobra has an IRS and the others are live, so I was wondering if anyone knew if this was possible or if I would encounter any problems with the suspension swap? I have had the cobra on a lift and have seen the suspension and it looks as though besides some mounting spot it should be a bolt on mod. Also, if i should be aware of any other problems? It will be a total swap of everything mechanical and the full interior of the 10th anniversary edition. I will also get the hood, front/rear bumper covers and all the proper badging.

Maybe I just don't understand what you are wanting to do. Why would you want to take everything from an 03 cobra and put it in another mustang the same body style? What is wrong with the cobra you have?

most people swap out that irs so id say screw that part, take the brakes motor/trans etc though. it must be wrecked pretty good though.

Yes the cobra has been wrecked. It was hit lightly in the front and more heavily in the left rear. The reason im swapping everything is because i would rather not mess with trying to straighten the frame. And im not going to try and make money off of it, its just for me to keep and drive a lot. So would you recommend going with the live rear axle or IRS? and why? Thanks

Sorry im afraid i will def. be keeping the engine. I just want to know the adv. and disadv. of having an IRS or a live rear axle?
