OK I'm considering trading in my car (which I just bought but I have Mustang fever again) for a 99 Cobra with 36k miles and I found out about them being way overrated by Ford and I was wondering if anyone has any information about this recall and if there's a way to tell if it's been done, and if it hasn't been done, if it's still an active recall so I could take care of it if I were to buy it. The car lot that has the Cobra also has several Z28's and Trans Ams but I'm partial to Mustangs so I prefer the Cobra, but if power is going to be that much of an issue, for the same price I can pick up a Z28....any info is greatly appreciated. Want to be as informed as possible before I consider buying it.

I dont think there is a way of knowing per se. unless he shows you the paperwork or you call the dealership and confirm that it has been done there... The dealership wont have any records if it has been done a while ago.... ( I think ).... You can buy the car and bring it to the dealership and they will tell you if all the recalls have been performed....

The power of the Cobra is 320 and if the recall has not been performed it would be around 280....

Yeah apparently there should be a black and/or green dot on the underside of the hood and a sticker showing that the PCM was reflashed. I'll probably look at it soon...hope everything works out. Thanks for the info.
