RE: suspension
I would start by scrapping the IRS. You can buy a new 8.8 for pretty cheap and will knock off some pounds while doing away with that unwanted wheel hop. As far as suspension components, I personally have a Eibach springs, Tokico adjustable shocks and struts with a Steeda package that replaced all of the stock components. The car handles twice as good as stock, but there are some better packages out there. I heard good things about the Kenny Brown's...look to fork out some dough if you want to do it right. If you are on a budget, just go with lowering springs, shocks/struts, and caster/camber plates. At that point you will get a huge improvement over stock.

RE: suspension
You can get a new 8.8 rear axle assembly for pretty cheap from www.brothersperformance.com . I got all of the parts to rebuild my black cobra from them. Got lots and lots of parts from them. As I have dealt with a few mustang performance stores on line, I can say that this is one of the better ones. I had to wait several days for them to get the rear end in, but made it from Cali to TX right on time and they where always ready to help with any questions that I had...Here is the page for the rear end... http://www.brothersperformance.com/s...m4006b373.html . You actually have two choices with it, they either come with a 3.55 or 3.73 ring and pinion gear set...You will still have to come up with axles and brake components from a donor car. That aught to be pretty easy get ahold of as there are a ton of these 8.8s in the wreck yards...I should have the car back on the road tomorrow. I will have something to say about the short throw shifter on the TKO500 that was dropped in...when I have proven the car on the road, then it is time for the supercharging fun to begin
