Default RE: ENGINE PROBLEMS

I have two 97 cobras...one with 63K miles and the other with 130K (soon will have a fresh motor installed). I have never had any problems with mine and haven't heard of anything about that anywhere. I would say that the pump was defective and that Ford needs to follow through with their word in regards to the warranty. I can't see how they would be able to void it due to headers. If you have spoken to the Service Manager and can't come to agreable terms, contact customer service at Ford headquarters...

Never heard of that problem... If oil pumps were failing on them very often they would have had a major recall.. thats one hell of a part to go out.

yeah man... at any rate simple bolt ons like exhaust have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE OIL PUMP..

oil pumps should last indefinitely, and in my experience they go out gradually, not like a light switch

I am hoping that you post the outcome...Ford says that they want all customers satisfied and that they will do what it takes. It would be nice to know that they follow through as well. I have never personally had any problems with my Ford vehicles, with the exception of normal parts wear and tear failure...
