Hi I'm just moving to ft. Hood I got Quick question
On engine mods and motor swaps when getting inspection
Because I got a 427 man o war world race motor
I've been building and was gonna put it in a tubbed
Out 65 stang would it be legal to put it in a 87
Stang here in texas????

I am not sure on the specifics, but I believe it all depends on the year of the engine and the year of the car.
If the 427 is 87 or newer, you can put it into the car, but it has to have all the emissions controls that came on an 87 car (cats EGR, etc.)
If the engine is older than your 87 car, it unfortunately would be illegal.

I think these are laid out by Federal EPA, not state.

I know where I am they dont always enforce taillight or window tint but that doesnt mean they can't stop you and give you a ticket for it if they wanted. I think I read about the law on tail lights somewhere and it said something about having to be clearly visible from xxx feet away. "Clearly visible" leaves a lot of room for interpretation
