I recently removed my clutch assist spring, now my pedal feels way way better.

Just came across this Steeda clutch assist spring

Which states
-Avoid slave cylinder damage due to removal of stock clutch spring

My question is, could removal of the stock spring cause damage to the clutch or any of its components?

I'll probably call Ford and check with them but wanted to see if anyone on here could shed some light.

cut and paste from your link, explains it all ........................ Most owners fail to realize the prolonged effects of simply taking out your factory OE spring and not replacing it with another spring. By negating your factory clutch assist spring you will notice chatter/NVH from your clutch pedal. Your clutch pedal will never fully return to stock position without any assist spring, and over time your slave cylinder may begin leaking due to constant pressure on its seals from the clutch pedal not returning to the stock position. -

If not having the clutch spring on allows the pedal to sag, as it sounds like it does, wouldn't that also keep the cruise control from working?

Cruise still works with it out.

Just ordered the 35lb spring, better safe than sorry.

Clutch feels really good with no spring, hoping this thing doesn't' change that too much for me.

I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

Just got off the phone with Ford service. They do not recommend taking it out without replacing it with another spring. Your clutch pedal could / will sag and over time cause damage. Pretty much told me it was ok to replace with the Steeda spring, but do not remove it completely.

My HHRSS has a similar setup. My spring broke and I didn't replace it. I think this led to my premature slave failure.
