I have been bracket racing old Fords.....
for many years. These were NOT street driven cars, pure race cars with Holley double pumpers, 4.56 gears, C-4's, etc. Traditional bracket racing stuff. I've trailered them all every weekend. I'm now 71 and am thinking about driving a street car to and from the track for my bracket racing "fix". What I'd like to have is a bone stock late model coyote (2012-2014) and put a supercharger on to run 7.50's at near 100 mph in the eighth. I'd prefer a softer launch (low stall) with a disproportionately higher mile per hour. Wondering what a bone stock, supercharged coyote would do..... assuming proper drag radials, or equivalent, for racing. I am totally late model Mustang challenged (I wouldn't even know how to change a spark plug). I'm guessing a horse power figure of 500 at the crank is what it would take to accomplish this. It looks like it's not too hard to get a naturally aspirated coyote in the high 7's BUT,......BUT, they only have a trap speed of 90 ish from what I've seen. I'd much prefer a trap speed of near 100 mph. Of course, going too quick (less than 7.50) would require roll bars, etc., which I don't want. The last item is engine reliability. Would it last for many seasons of bracket racing? Any suggestions or personal experiences are gratefully appreciated.

Proper maintenance and the 5.0 will take 500 crank horsepower all day everyday with a low boost blower, and proper tune. Really any supercharger even on only 6-8 lbs will be over 600 crank horses. Would have to be a super soft launch to stay under 7.50 imo.

I did 7.60 at over 90 on just a tune and a slick tire on a manual 2012 loaded GT. The other half of that was 11.91 at 115.3.
You'll want the automatic. Nice low stall, 1800 rpm or so. a good healthy tune will net you mid-low 12s, every time. Us e a 26" tire on this, even a drag radial is fine, because the auto takes away all the rear suspension issues at launch.
A blower is overkill for your goal. An aggressive tune and full exhaust should do it.
