04GT v. 98ish BMW 540i
So, my gf has a 98 m3 and this kid at her school just got a BMW 540i and has been trying to hit on her and what not. I'm a very easy going guy. I get along with honda guys, german car guys, etc. but I don't like this kid. Just for kicks and gigles, do you guys think this kid could take my mustang (4.6L 2v) with 4.10s, tune, 70mm t/b and upper plenum, shocks/struts, springs, short shifter, cat-back? His 540i has a 4valve 5.0L BMW v8 with a standard transmission, everything else should be stock right now on it. What do you guys think? Thanks

that's what I was thinking, just wanted to hear it from someone else, I ended up talking to the kid for a few minutes online, all he did was bash on my car while I tried to compliment him on his, oh well, thanks

you will kill him. i'm guessing he probably doesn't do much racing, he probably just goes by whatever paper stats are around, and still the 540i loses to a stock 04 gt. just for reference, my friend has an 06 gt auto, and he outlaunched a stock 2000 bmw m5, and that car has 400hp. the guy must not have known how to launch, but with 400 hp it should have easily beaten him. so i say you'll beat the guy no doubt

Honestly, I'd say just punch the guy in the face for hitting on your g/f
On a serious note, you should beat him. Like someone else said, go from a dig to make it look even worse.

once upon a time there was a summer right after I sold my yellow stang and my 2005 Lincoln LS lined up at a light with around the same year 540i... while it did surprise the hell out of me (being an older body style and not an M, also the sound surprised me because at the time I didn't know a 540i was a high revving V8) my lincoln still beat it by a good car length 0-130MPH
on average with a good driver a bone stock 99-04 mustang GT should put around 1-2 cars on me in the same race with the LS showing pull after 60MPH (or from what I have seen)
so in other words, yes.... it should be a walk in the park for your stang if you can drive it

yeah, he just got the car, he's one of those guys that acts like he knows everything, but doesn't know jack... I on the other hand know my limitations and know I'm not a great driver yet, but I'm getting there, in other words I'm more than confident that I can out drive him
