ok guys im goin to the track on the 29th to see how big of a gain my fixing a vaccuum leak and swapping out the flowmaster catback for an SLP LM1 catback will gain me. my last outting at the track was last thursday and my best time was a 14.975 @ 91mph.

5.0L 5spd
mods: SLP LM1 catback, O/R H-pipe, and K&N filter
wheels/tires: 17x9 and 17x10.5 Bullits. 255/40R17(front) 315/35R17(rear) Nitto 555's with the quad shocks removed.

on my last outting i had a really bad vaccum leak, the vaccum line that goes under the intake on the 5.0 dry rotted and broke and i didnt have time to replace it before going to the track. i have since fixed the vaccum leak and swapped out the old flowmaster catback for an SLP LM1 catback.

im hoping to pick up a tenth from the vaccum line alone because it was a pretty bad leak and im thinking maybe a half a tenth for the freer flowing SLP LM1 catback.

 

You might try advancing your timing a little also. But just getting the car running right ought to pick you up a 10th.

 

yea so far the only timing ive done is by ear and feel(test driving afterwards) and i think ive got it pretty good i would use my timing light but i cant find it as i havnt used it in years

the track prep was pretty good on the night and they even took a little time to reprep it part of the way through the night but after a few drag cars and the jet car went down the track near the end of the night the track prep went downhill but i still got my best time on my last run of the night(it was actually the last run of the night for the entire track)
