re ran L99 SS
i ran my buddies 2011 camaro ss coupe L99 a few months back when i didn't have the intake and tune. he had a passenger at that time, so he had 200 extra pounds sitting around when re ran so the outcome should've been alot worse. we had a chance to run again today, this time he had no passenger. we did 3 45-50 rolls. i had perfect shifts every time, chirped 3rd pretty loud on one of the runs. first run we hit it and he starts to pull a little bit, we shut it down at about 90 or so and my bumper is at his door. 2nd run is the same thing pretty much. last run was the closest. 45 roll, as soon as i hit it i could hear my tires hook and screech a bit, i'm ahead of him by about a bumper or so, shift to 3rd at around 70 he gets right next to me, stay dead even til 100 and then hit the brakes. he's got a volant cai, no tune, getting one for his birthday. it was a loss but i wasn't upset about it. i got to see how i would hold up against him now with no passenger and i think i did pretty well for being at a disadvantage with displacement and horsepower.

I raced one from a light once to 60 and it ended the same way as yours. Mind you at the time I was 100% stock (lazy auto shifts and all) against an L99 that was also stock.
I'd be interested to see what I can do now with the tune and reprogammed tranny.

Agreed, weight makes a massive difference (obviously). Kills me when people say weight isn't an issue from a roll. It may be slightly more of an issue from a dead stop, but that doesn't mean that the weight suddenly disappears at 45, 50, 70, or 2,000 mph. Acceleration is acceleration and resistance is resistance.
Put an LS1 Miata up against an LS1 GTO from a roll and tell me weight doesn't have as much of an effect from a roll.

I raced a friends 2010 L99 camaro once, we did 3 pulls one from a 20 roll, one from a 40, and one from a dig. Every time I slowly crept on him, I won 3 for 3. The dig race I demolished him(4.10s ftw) the 20 roll I got a nice jump on him(~1-1.5 lengths by the time we shut down around 90-100), and the 40 roll I crept away. His car was stock except for the exhaust. I had my CAI, Tune, and 4.10s. Both cars were auto. I was happy with the outcome :-)

damn dude thats awesome! haha. he had a volant cai, and i had my cai/tune from brenspeed with stock 3.55's. i pulled an e46 m3 from a roll with a passenger so i think with a completely stock L99 SS i'd be able to maintain a somewhat stable race. we stayed pretty even til the 5-0 were off to the side then we got scared. we ended up being alright haha

on our last run from 50-100 we stayed pretty even. he was suprised i stayed so close to him. he was expecting to put a car or two on me haha. it was quite a surprise for him haha. i don't want to race my pop's LS3 haha

It still hurts greatly.
