And the roads sometimes. What part do you live? I'm in the east bay.

There is no way of knowing what this Chevy smallblock is capable of without a dyno sheet or a timeslip. The owner sounds like he has some brain damage though.

See if you can get him to put his money where his mouth is. I think it's a pretty safe bet that he's not getting close to 400hp with that car.

Assuming that all he did was bore it .030 over, add a mild street cam, Edlebrock intake manifold & headers hes probably looking at around 240ish at the wheels... Even still, its a 1980.

I never in my life seen a early 80's camero blow away anything unless it was a Escort. The 80's camero's didnt start getting hot until 1986 when the IROC Z28 came out with the TPI 350V8 with 220hp. Not much by todays standards, but 220hp was A LOT back in the mid 80's...
Go race the chump, have him put his money where his mouth is...

Hahahah that's a bit insulting to people with actual brain damage by sticking him in that category. But nah, he just has a big mouth.

Yeah I completely agree with you I really want to but he hasn't been driving Camaro. He's been using his Trans Am to get to work.

His car dooesn't sound like he got a mild cam but there might be a possibility he bored it over. He's never talked about upgrading the manifold or the headers so I doubt he got that.

I think my old 86 Berlinetta Camaro with the 305 would probably keep up with him lol! That is if I still had it.

Oh nice! That's really close! I probably have seen you around then since there's rarely any Bullits in the area. If you ever see a red GT with a blacked out decklid and a Starfleet Academy Alumni license plate holder, that would be me!

Quick question. Would I have to replace the stock block itself if I want to go over 400hp? Or would it be fine with a forged rotating assembly? Also, what type of cams would work with a blower?
