I ordered a Magnum XL with the gear ratio that has a frist gear of 2.66.. I have a 4:10 rear, how do you think this will perform in the 1/4 mile? Think its too steep for my setup or should I go with the 2.94 first gear?

The 3650 has a 3.36 first gear and always thought it was not steep enough with my 4:10 gears.

 

Well, are yougerting traction now? If you are then you'd be better off with the 2.97 first. If 1st is useless now, then go for the 2.66

 

I woukd have to say first gear is border line. Not useless but does not have much value. Out of the hole with slicks it nice but not in first very long.
