4.6 s197 vs 2018 Charger
hello,
a friend of mine recently acquired a 2018 Dodge Charger Daytona.
The Daytona is making 370 hp to the crank & 395lb of torque, all while weighing in at around 4200LB.. there best 0-60 time is 5.1 sec
i have a 4.6 S197 Stock.... I’m sure you’s all know the specs already.
now I know there is a diffeeence of over 10 years between the cars, but just how quick is the Daytona in relation to my GT? Do I stand any chance?

Well, the Mustang should win, it's almost 900-lbs lighter than the Charger;
GT at 3300lbs -vs- Daytona at 4200lbs. However, the Charger has that 8-speed
auto. If you were to match transmissions, the Charger looses, it's too heavy.
The challenger is even heavier...
Since you said 10-years difference, we will assume you have an '08. Your 0-60 is
~5.4 seconds.
You can lose if you botch a shift, the Charger does not come in a manual, they have
that 8-speed auto, and those first three gears, you rip right through them at WOT.
Continual smooth acceleration. One false move, or delayed shift on your part,
you lose...
Optimally, since you take the time to shift, the Daytona should come out just on top.
As I said, match transmissions, the Daytona looses, even with the less weight
having a manual.
Now, If he had the 6.4L, then you'd be left behind....
