Noob Advice
Ive done most of the basic bolt ons on my previous Stangs, but I never messed with tuning. I just got a 10 Gt w/ trackpack.. Is it really that simple? I can plug it in a load a tune by myself? The salesamn told me the trackpack came with a factory tune but the only thing I can find is " sportmode " on the trac control, and even then I have no idea if thats really any different. It says its for more " spirited driving ".. would a tune screw with the factory warranty?
Warranty? Possibly, i would look into that first.
As far as tuning, yeah, you just plug it into the obd2 port and load up the tune. I am not too familiar with SCT or Diablo, I use Sniper. SCT and Diablo force you to get email tune or pay for a dyno tune. There can be downsides to that since every car is a bit different. With Sniper you have software loaded onto your laptop or desktop and you choose what you want to do yourself. Save the file with a unique name then upload it to the module. You plug that into the car and let it do its thing. You can create and modify as many tunes as you want with Sniper. The only downside to it is you have to know what you are doing with, especially when you get into AFR and that sort of thing. But if you are comfortable and you know what you are doing, I highly recommend sniper.

A custom tune will not void your warranty but there are some dealers that will tell you it will. Don't let them intimidate you.
I suggest you go to Brenspeed's website and check on their tunes and info. Although the '10 GT has the tune the prior years Bullitt has (giving it the 15 more crank HP over the '05-09's), you'll still gain another 15 or so RWHP with a GOOD custom tune (not the canned crap from AM, SCT or Diablo).

You can just take the tune off when you go in to the dealer put the stock tune back on, as far as I know they can only tell its been reset not why just tell them you left you lights on and killed the battery with the diablosport you can do that as many times as you want not sure with the scts if that will count as one of your five resets maybe somebody else knows.
to my knowledge the "sportmode" has nothing to do with the tune. Its my understanding that this is the traction control. I have the 3.73 and leave the traction control on full and it lets me get near sideways so you'd have to do some VERY spirited driving

SCT does not make you get an e-mail tune. If you get Live Wire, you can build tunes yourself and then load them to the XCal, just like your Sniper.
All of our Products for the Mustang come with pre loaded, dyno tested, extensively calibrated canned tunes, as well as the ability to load up to 5 custom tunes from any of our CMR tuners.
Also, there is no concern about any issues once you restore the stock tune to the vehicle.
