2011 GT tune/CAI results!!
This is one of our beta test cars, that was previously tuned here.
This graph is shows a baseline pull (car was flashed back to stock when it got here), then the tune, then the tune with the CAI installed.
Pretty impressive!

This Airaid tune will be available in the Trinity real soon!
The addition of the CAI and new tune was worth 20 rwhp over the stock intake/93 octane tune combo.

Those are great results and it seems is if that CAI/tune really comes on in the top end. I'm very interested in what type of gains the '11 v6's will see with a CAI and specific tune. Honestly though, I'm a little pessimistic about CAI performance gains on the v6.
Ha...we were convinced we wouldn't see more than 5-8 rwhp on the GT, so....
Great numbers...I have a question? Why do all the magazines and everything say the new 5.0 has 412HP when really its only about 365HP...I guess they should say it has the potential. Bottom line is when you buy a 2011 gt 5.0 you are getting around 365 HP not 412 as advertised.....Is this true? thanks

What you are seeing is RWHP.
Ford rates the Mustang (like all other vehicles) at Flywheel horsepower, which is not relevant in the real world, as you would need to remove the engine from the car to measure it
The RWHP # represents the power loss through the drivetrain and represents what kind of power you are actually putting to the ground. To be honest, at 412 HP, the Stang is actually a bit underrated based on the amount of power we are seeing at the wheels!

Mike said it best, according to Motor Trend and Edmunds who dyno tested the Mustang, they said Ford underrated their flywheel rating. They believed it to be more like 435-450 at the flywheel. Probably like more 435. If you put an SS or SRT8 on a dyno, they are not going to produce 428 hp and the SRT 8 will not get 425!!

I think that 435 quote is wrong? I think it depends on waht correction factor you use throught the drive train.
412 with 15% DT loss is 350's RWHP on dyno
412 with 12% DT loss is 362 RWHP on dyno
435 with 15% DT loss is 369 RWHP on dyno
435 with 12% DT loss is 383 RWHP on dyno
Personally I think it is the 412 with only 12% drivetrain loss? Most stock 11 GT's seem to be in the 360 RWHP?
Saw Horsepower TV the other day a 2010 Camaro SS only pulled like 333 RWHP?? Don't quote me on that number but close.
I don't know if it was Auto or Manual but suspect auto? Are SS even offered as an auto?
thats an interesting graph
so in summary for a daily driven application that will spend very little time at high rpm's,
your better off keeping the stock air cleaner setup since the stock intake clearly out muscled the CAI from 2,800 rpm on down
interesting i would have never guessed
on a side note... what do those things leave the factory at AFR wise? about how much timing are they running?
