Custom Headers / Bama Tune Questions

Custom Headers / Bama Tune Questions
So I have a few questions about what information I am going to need with these custom headers that I will be putting on my 2013 5.0.
In a few weeks I am installing a Steeda CAI and will be loading it with a 91 Bama tune.
A friend of mine is looking to branch off from doing high performance headers for imports. He's looking to start production on another branch for Mustangs right now it would only be Coyote 5.0 engines as that's what I got so it's going to be the test car running the prototypes.
Not sure when this is all going to go down with the production of the headers or if it will it's a possible venture. However I need to gather some information going into it so we can make it as smooth as possible.
I will be running Stainless Works Retro Cat backs, with the Steeda CAI. My friends headers and right now stock mid pipe but I am sure we will change that during different testing.

- What are the chances of Bama tunes working or not working with a custom setup like this?
- If issues pop up and maybe someone from AM or Bama might want to chime in on this one. Is there anything Bama would want to know about the heads to adjust tunes or do most aftermarket headers work with the Bama tunes or is everyone different when it comes to headers and tunes.
- Chances are I will be swapping between short tube and longtube headers. What changes will we need to look for as far as tunes go?

DocSnickers,
First off it looks like you have a pretty cool project, creating your own header design with a friend. I hope that it goes well! The test fitting is always a challenge with these DOHC v8's.
We would be happy to send you a Bama custom tune for your new setup. Tuning for different styled/branded LT headers isn't as complex as you would think. If you're able to tune for one brand of LT header, than you can easily tune for others with minor tune tweaks.
One of the most important components of a LT header is the position of your factory Lambda sensor, since these headers are for a 11+ Mustang. I see your friend is already used to building headers for Imports, so I'm sure he knows where to position the sensor at the collector, with the proper angle.
As long as the headers are well built, Bama won't have any problem writing custom tunes for your setup. Shoot me a PM when the day comes and I'll get you in contact with one of our best Bama Tuning Specialists!

Awesome sounds great, if all goes well you guys may have a new brand of headers in the near future. I can say all the stuff they build is top quality, most of its stainless and they do ceramic coating too on some of their heads. So if they do end up going this route and developing heads I will have them get in touch with you guys.
