Default Tranny

I just got a 93 Mustang LX 2.3L, A4LD with lock-down converter tranny. The tranny was just "rebuilt" (before I bought it) but when I start the car it hesitates getting into reverse and drive, it also won't shift on it's own until it "warms" up, then it's fine. We also found some shavings in the tranny during an inspection.

HELP! What could be causing this?? It's KILLING my gas mileage!!

Lil thing called a Lemon Law. Get your money back, make them pay for it, make them pay for some of it or do it yourself. Either way your looking at rebuilding the tranny of buying a new one. Sorry.

Well like I said, it was rebuilt...is it possible they forgot about redoing the lock-down converter? Plus I bought this from private owner, don't think there's much I can do about getting him to pay for it.

Hey Jeanie, If you got paper work for the tranny rebuild, than take it to that tranny shop. If the guy you bought it from didn't give you paper work, find out who did the rebuild, they may have a record of it. Good Luck. Best thing you can do for now is drain the fluid and replace it every month or two until you get it fixed.
