when i floor my auto v6 and the rpms go above 4000 the red battery light on the dach lights up and if its at night the lights go dim until it shifts whast that all about and how do i fix it?

I'm betting you have a bad voltage regulator. BUT, before you replace it or the alt., Clean your battery terminals. Then if it keeps up, take the alternator out and to the local auto parts store. Have them check it out.

I second that. Take it inside, do not let them check it while it's in the car with one of their portable machines. It's not as good.
