exterior rust has nothing to do with the internals of an engine
+1. Just cus a car has shiny headers don't mean the rings or bearings aren't aboot to go.

i know its in excellent conditon cause theres hardly any rust on the stock headers and arnt those the first thing to rust? Ok so a 2.3 turbo swap alright then sounds good to me. thx for the advice and everything and if you have more plz tell me im in dire need of it lol
HEADER! HEADER!
there is only 1 on a 4 banger and its most likely and EXHAUST MANIFOLD! unless it was changed then maybe it is. go for a 351 widsor or 351 clevland if ur gunna swap! i was thinkin of that.
hey go try spining ur tires thats about all i can do. feel that 2.3 muscle

Keep the motor do a fresh rebuild with forged parts and buy a turbo but re route the blow off valve back into the induction system so it's quiet! Then blow the doors off imports, mustangs and camaro's! I venture to say it could cost anywhere between 3-6G's depending on parts, how extreme, how big a turbo, and how smart you'd be on the preperation....
