Did you ever think maybe there was no difference because you may have driven faster or worse when you were using the 93? Because I personally notice everytime that I use a higher octane that my mpg goes up 1-2.

Well I'm gonna say try it, you won't be able to notice the hp gain you'll get, but you will probably notice a slight mpg increase and you will notice that your engine will run better. Trust me, I think you can afford $1.50 extra at the pump, and that's if you fully have to fill up. If you don't like it, or don't notice anything, then drop back down to 87, but I think you may like 89, now its 93 octane that you may have a slight problem with, but I'm still pretty sure your spark plugs generate enough spark to fully detonate the gas, but try 89, if you like it, try it for a while, and when you're really feeling experimental, try 93.
oh Bull, ive done all kinds of different mpg tests going back and forth to maine, there is NO difference except i had less money after putting in premium
when the cruise gets set at 60 then no, speed is not a factor

1.) i accelarated about the same, keep it below 2k rpm by babying the throttle till 30, set the cruise and then accelerate by the CC

2.) it would be a bigger diff then .6 mpg i would think

.6mpg where are you getting that? I said 1-2mpg also I dont need to argue with you because I know what I have calculated and the different things I have tried if you dont believe me then that is your own prob. I am just suggesting for this guy who had a question.

yes, and i am saying that driving very similarly on both 93 octane and 87 octane i got .6 mpg diff between using the two, and i had the windows up and the AC on both ways, cruise set at 60 accelerating gentally, overdrive on, me and my dad, and sister with 2 overnight bags and a back pack in the back

Well I noticed about a 2mpg increase before I tinkered with the spark advance, so technically my engine wasn't tuned to 93 and I got way better engine responce and mpg, yes 2 mpg is a lot for me. Also, your car gets way worse milage than most of us here, so consider your airflow problem a factor to.
