Default Quick octane question

Am i able to use a greater "grade" of octane when fillin up?? I usually use 87 but i was thinkin about going up to 89 octane just for fun. Stupid question i know but i was just curious if i can or not. I heard the higher octane the cleaner the fuel and also engine noise is down a little bit with higher octane. I dunno fill me in please!!

Some people say its all in the head (head as in the one on your shoulders), some people say its a noticeable change. I went from the lowest to middle, i noticed a very slight change but nothing significant.

Well I'm gonna say try it, you won't be able to notice the hp gain you'll get, but you will probably notice a slight mpg increase and you will notice that your engine will run better. Trust me, I think you can afford $1.50 extra at the pump, and that's if you fully have to fill up. If you don't like it, or don't notice anything, then drop back down to 87, but I think you may like 89, now its 93 octane that you may have a slight problem with, but I'm still pretty sure your spark plugs generate enough spark to fully detonate the gas, but try 89, if you like it, try it for a while, and when you're really feeling experimental, try 93.

I think ill give it a shot next time. I never fill up my tank completely. Ill put in either 5 gallons or like 5-10 dollars worth cuz im cheap like that but its gets me around for at least 2 days hahaha. But yeah ill give 89 a try and see how it works.

I dunno in our owners manuals it says that using the higher octane may cause a noise in the engine or fluctuating rpms at idle. I have noticed both of these when I use 93. But whatever it doesnt really do that much I just like to use it every now and then.

fyi, i dont think its good to keep switchin up between 87 and 89 a lot. if your not tuned , stay with 87. trust me, puttin in higher octane than 87 will not do anything for your car. ive tried already, and i save money and save my engine with 87.

oh Bull, ive done all kinds of different mpg tests going back and forth to maine, there is NO difference except i had less money after putting in premium

Did you ever think maybe there was no difference because you may have driven faster or worse when you were using the 93? Because I personally notice everytime that I use a higher octane that my mpg goes up 1-2.
