For 94-95 horses, the V6 was rated at 145 horsepower and 215 lbs.-ft. of torque. 1996 saw the motor's output increase by 5 horsepower, while torque remained the same, albeit at a slightly higher rpm range.
In 1999, Ford went to a split-port induction, which bumped power output upwards to 190 horsepower and 220 lbs.-ft. of torque. And for 2001, Ford added intake manifold runner control plates to gain 3 more horsepower but more importantly, a stout 25 lbs.-ft. of torque. In addition to these respectable power figures, the aftermarket has stepped up with supercharger and nitrous oxide kits, as well as exhaust components from the headers back. Some companies carry V8 take-off components, so that the V6 owner can upgrade to heavier-duty parts as his/her budget permits

I will set this straight the 99-03 had a 3.8L motor. Which had 190 hp at the fly and 220 tq at the fly. The 04 had a 3.9 which had 193hp at the fly and 223 tq at the fly. Now much like tight said it depends on if you have a auto or manual for what you have to the wheels it does vary between 160-170 hp to the wheels. NOW STOP ARGUING!!

3.8L OHV 12-valve V-6 193 hp Standard
4.6L SOHC 16-valve V-8 260 hp GT
5.4L DOHC 32-valve V-8 385 hp Cobra-R
Those numbers are for the 2000V6
03yellow I am not going to argue but every where I have ever been and ever looked the 2000 V6 mustang MINE has 190hp its not until 2004 with the 3.9L that they have 193hp I would be willing to bet on this. But of course every car is different so... but who cares what is 3hp I mean really. I am just saying that I will continue to believe that my 00 came with 190 stock

i dont argue, because i am right, 99-00 had 190 hp, 01-04 had 193 and i know they all had 220 ft/lbs, the so called 3.9 is actually a 3.825 even though it is badged as a 3.9 and gains NO power and NO torque
