I have no idea on how they check the HP when I take it with me. All I know is that the size of the tax is determined by weight, age, and HP. Hell, for all I know, they'll just look in the manual. I'll look into it, but I sure think things will go way smoother at the border with most things being stock...

And I sense some real hostility with regards to the body-kits. How come? I've seen some pretty cool rides online, and none of them looked stock. Besides, I'm really not happy with the way the stock 99-04 front looks.

Aaaaand while I have you guys here, another n00b question: I'm gonna need both rims and tires, but as far as I can see, the rims in the online stores don't come with tires. Why not just go to, say, Canadian Tire and get some 18x9s there, with the tire pre-installed? Is there really such a big difference between, say, the Steeda-rims and the rims that come with the tires in the shops?

If you're not worried about the weight of the rims, then its all just what they look like. Obviously you're not gonna wanna get some cheap piece of crap, but the ones from a shop would work just as well, as long as you like how they look. But from the places Ive been, its cheaper to get em online, I dont know if its the same there or not. And the hostility towards the body kits around here is probably mostly due to the fact that a lot of kits for stangs look very ricy. There are not a lot of people here that like rice, so they dont like the kits.

i would assume they would use stock HP and not make you dyno your car to get it over there, sure you can go there and get rims, they may not be good, but you can get them.

This is mustang forums, youll come to learn that they hate: body kits, big spoilers, underglows, altezzas, and basically anything else you see on import cars

Well, what's the difference between an "acceptable" body-kit and a "ricer" body-kit, anyway?

And what *is* an altezza?

And finally, with my colour car, do you think I should go with black or chrome rims (looking at the Bullitt ones)

an acceptable body kit is a roush or saleen kit or even a cobra R kit (even though it has a big spoiler, its for down force). Altezzas are european style tail lights that came on the toyota altezza or in the U.S. the lexus IS300. if you want it to look nice i would go with GT fogs and a MACH 1 lip
