ok i was going to my pastors house today for a little get togethet and i noticed my car was idling at like 500 i didnt think anything of it but i had to stop and get some soda...... and my car stalled..... it stalled no joke like 15-20 times going there and 3 times comming home its like a 30-40 mile drive....... and on top of that my rpm's werent going over 2000 and i normally drive at 1500 and 2000+ accelerating and it was topping out at 2000 and driving at 1000 and idling at 400-500...... i stoped and turned my idle up no good..... what could this be.... the only thing i have done reasonly was fill up and i think i heard somewhere that cars dont like the stuff there putting into gas and if so i think it may be it but i dont know can anyone give me some help

what else is it doing? have you check ed to see if any codes come up? check engine light on? how many miles.. waht year car....

 

my 2.3 was doing that yesterday and i checked all vaccum lines and i had a bunch cracked or broken. also i had a scope put on it for codes and it said egr valve circut so and egr is like 75 bucks so id check the vaccum lines and go from there

 

is it carb or fuel-injected

 

its fuel injected but i got the problem fixed i had a few codes on the car...... Coolant Temp Sensor, Ign Coil, Ign Module, and IAC Motor but i am still going to check my vacum lines cause everyone thinks i have a vacum leak somewhere... wont hurt to check

 

I just got my 2.3 fixed the other day....it had lost alot of hp and was idleing rough but i have forgotten what the rpm was...but it was low!! Anyway my front cadilidic converter had fallen apart on the inside and the stuff in side it had stopped up the pipes! Best bet is to take it to a shop and have them look at it.
